Strawberry Kiwi Sorbet
If you have an ice cream maker, sorbets are super easy and healthy desserts to make. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you should probably buy one. This is a basic recipe that you can use for all sorts of different fruits. It’s a 3:1 ratio of fruit to simple syrup. Throw in some “flavors” and you’re all set.

- 2 cups kiwi, peeled
- 1 cup strawberries, de-stemmed
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- juice of half a lemon
- zest of half a lemon
- pinch of salt
Bring the apple juice and sugar to a boil and reduce to simmer for 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Puree the kiwi and strawberry until smooth and mix in lemon, zest and salt. Add the syrup when it’s cooled.
Refrigerate for 20 minutes or more to cool down the mixture. Freeze according to your ice cream maker’s directions.
Store in an air tight container (glass works best at preventing freezer burn and ice build up).
